Tiles has been around for thousands of years and modern materials provide hundreds of design options. Not only does tiles afford a lot of creativity in the finished look of the project, but as a flooring material it does not burn, fade or easily stain when properly installed. It resists wear and can feasibly last as long as the substrate that supports it. Here's a few tips to keep in mind for your next installation.

Level It - Perfect substrate conditions are essential for a successful installation.

Substrates must be: dry and properly cured; flat and free of cracks; clean and free of dust, debris or lumps of cement; compact and strong.

Setting the tiles - Before starting with the installation, place some tiles over the surface to check the final effect, making sure you have the right tile size, shade, and quality class. Use good mortar quality like Thin-set mortar which is one of the best bedding adhesive.

Spread the thin-set mortar and gently lay a tile on thin-set next to the straightedge, pushing down.

Let tiles sets overnight before walking over the newly laid tiles.

Finish the tile joints with premium grout - Fill the grout lines with the grout only when the floor has sufficiently set to be ready to tread on, removing any residue from the gout lines. Grout small areas of the surface at a time and remove excess grout with a sponge or a wet cloth (with clean water).

Clean it carefully and enjoy it!
